Merry KKKristmas
The American Family Association isn't really known for their tolerance, but surely even they know that this is completely inappropriate. And are people actually buying it from their website?

Or is this one of those "we didn't realize a burning cross in the yard was considered bad" kind of moments? Then again, this is the American Family Association. "How to Build a Flame Free Burning Cross" is probably in the handbook.

Hate
Is anyone really surprised by this? They've discovered that the church shooter in Tennessee has three of the biggest hatemongers in the US as his role models: Michael Savage, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly.
"Inside the house, officers found Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder by radio talk show host Michael Savage, Let Freedom Ring by talk show host Sean Hannity, and The O'Reilly Factor, by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly."
Granted they aren't the ones who pulled the actual trigger in this case, but with the amount of hatred these three spew on TV, radio, and through their books I'm surprised they haven't incited incidents like this before now.
This story is now going to quickly disappear and be forgotten. It was already in danger of that once it was announced it happened at a Unitarian Universalist church. If it's not Xtian then the sheep don't think it's a "real" church and therefore the heathens deserve anything that happens to them (Jesus would be so proud of that kind of thinking). But now that the Big Boys of Hatred's names are linked to the story?
... time to plaster what Ryan Seacrest's favorite color is on the front page.

Unfuckingbelievable
Yay for fascism!
First Amendment? Free speech, as long as we can secretly listen to what you're saying.
Fourth Amendment? Heh, that was just meant to be a suggestion. That whole requiring warrant thing has gone on long enough.
But then, what do you expect from a President whose opinion of the Constitution is that "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"?

In another post about the increase in the minimum wage, I wrote:
""Barack Obama will raise the minimum wage"...from the Obama website.
Free market indeed. Nothing more free about a market than dictating labor cost. Excuse me, comrade, while I read the latest dispatch from the Politburo. Businesses have to pay their employees, right? When the cost of doing business increases for a company due to increased labor costs, they have to do one of two things - cut the workforce or raise prices. Just which of these two options helps the American worker? When a "mom and pop" small business suddenly has its' labor cost rise, through no choice of their own, what will they do? Who is more suited to withstand an increase in labor cost, Mega Corp or Mom and Pop's General Store? Goodbye, Mom and Pop's.
I'm sorry. I forgot - we are "hoping" for a "change" in the economy. If your idea of "change" is the government deciding labor cost in a "free" market, then I "hope" you are not the worker who loses your job."
Well...
This is what I was talking about.
Hope and Change, indeed.

Concert
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will be performing at the Asheville Civic Center this Saturday night. I didn't know anything about it until I saw it in today's paper, or I might have tried to get tickets and go.
